Top Leadership is Key to Successful Change. Three Reasons Why Most Fail Big!
February 26th, 2025 | From our CEO
Three top leadership reasons why most change and transformation initiatives fail big:
- The Fundamental: Top Leadership Team Cohesion. Only 5% of leadership teams are in what we call the WIN zone. The rest – 95% – are not working together as ONE, and their employees notice. 15% of leadership is even worse. They are on the fast-track to failure. Tugs of war, infights, silos… you name it.
- The Capability: Top Leadership Support of Change Objective. Only about 50% of change programs have real support from top leadership. If top leadership is not supporting, then they cannot role model and make sense to their people. If they are not onboard, then get them onboard NOW!
- The Execution: Top Leadership Staying on Top Over Time. Less than 20% of leadership teams stay on top 3 months after the launch of change. Instead, they move on to the newest fad, or whatever they suddenly devote their attention to. This is just poor leadership.
